TacoSashimi
A specialized app for a Mexico City based food truck
DURATION
Aug 2021 - Oct 2021
ROLE
Lead UX Designer
RESPONSIBILITIES
User research, wireframing, prototyping
The Problem...
Sometimes users have a difficult time locating the food truck or they arrive to find that the lines are long or the food is no longer available.
The Goal...
Provide a user-focused app that provides a simplified way to locate the food truck on any given day and order ahead of arrival.
Our research confirmed our problem...
1
LONG WAITS
Sometimes lines for the food truck could get long.
2
AVAILABILITY
Certain items would run out on occasion.
3
LOCATION
Some people were unsure where the food truck would be on certain days.
Meet Maria...
Maria is a busy architect and mother who needs a nice, lively, urban space where she can eat without worrying about food availability because she wants to enjoy time with her family when she is free of work.
Designing for the users...
Users needed to ensure food was available when they arrived, and to make sure they knew where the food truck was.

Pre-ordering and location functions for TacoSashimi were going to help them do exactly that...
Mexico City is a diverse city...
Accessibility was important when developing the TacoSashimi app.

That's why both English and Spanish versions were necessary to make the app accessible to a diverse range of users.
Celebrating Mexico's heritage through color
Mexico is known for it's vibrant colors and ancient history.

In designing this app, it was important to incorporate these beautiful color palettes.

Inspiration was taken during my walks through the city of Oaxaca, which is full of amazing murals.
